Squash & Racquetball Courts Questions

A site assessment checks room length, width, and ceiling height against regulation dimensions. The most common limiting factor in Phoenix home conversions is ceiling clearance, a squash court requires a minimum of 20 feet. The builder confirms fit before any work is scoped.

Yes, if the space meets the structural and dimensional requirements. Ceiling height, wall condition, and floor condition are assessed during the site visit. Spaces that fall short on one factor can sometimes be adapted. Those that fall short on multiple factors usually require a new-build approach.

An existing space used for storage or another purpose can develop structural issues, moisture, settling, or surface damage, that make a future court build more involved and more costly. Catching those conditions early, during a site assessment, keeps the scope from expanding unexpectedly.

Phoenix’s heat makes ventilation a planning item, not an add-on. The builder reviews airflow options during the site assessment and factors ventilation into the build scope so playing conditions stay comfortable year-round without retrofitting after the court is finished.
